Positive Thinking

My natural tendency was to think that no matter what I chose to do, it was never going to work or be good enough. I was depressed for a long period of time (about 6 months) and I couldn't see any of the good things in life that were all around me. I was frustrated with what was happening at home, with my career and my world in general. It was a very difficult time for me - I felt like I was surrounded by walls. I finally found myself at a critical point where I realized that it was time to do or die. I had to change my brain and regain control.

That?s when I discovered the mind is a powerful force that you can use to your advantage. If you think positive thoughts, you will have a more positive, optimistic perspective and lead a more cheerful and peaceful life. So that?s just what I do. I concentrate on what makes me feel positive. I select funny movies to watch and inspiring books to read. I volunteer in my community working with senior citizens and young children. They are so appreciative of my time. By helping others, I help myself. I also practice mediation.

I always try to remember that while some things are controllable some are not. That was a big lesson for me to learn. I am getting better at accepting my weaknesses and mistakes too. I avoid negative people if I can. At the same time, I am learning how to receive criticism without becoming depressed about it.

All in all I am feeling very fortunate that I am on the right track. I know positive thinking is changing me. I like your term, subliminal evolutions.
